Educational Requirements

In order to be an integral part of health care setting, candidates need hands-on practice as well as formal schooling. The programs may range from less than 1-2 years from universities, colleges and technical schools. For admission, candidates require general educational development (GED) or a high school diploma. The Association of Surgical Technologists makes sure that candidates are enrolled in a post secondary school to complete an accredited program.
